About this item:  REPAIR SLEEVE FUNCTION: The hammer shank is a wooden dowel bearing a hammer in a piano action. If the hammer shank breaks, you will either have to replace it or repair it with a hammer shank repair sleeve. DESIGN: The hammer shank repair sleeve has a slot in it so that you can tighten or loosen it as needed. LIGHTWEIGHT METAL: The hammer shank repair sleeve will not add much weight to the hammer shank since the metal is so light. INSTRUCTIONS: Take your broken hammer shank and dab some heavy-duty wood glue (liquid hide glue works best) to cover the surface you wish to glue. Slide the repair sleeve onto the longer broken piece. Line up the broken pieces together the way they were before the shank was broken and slip the repair sleeve over the broken joint. The slot on the sleeve allows it to be pulled tighter or looser as needed.
