But as Itsines revealed today, there's a dark side to having 4.6 million Instagram followers scrutinizing your every post: body-shaming. Itsines said that each time she posts one of these dramatic before-and-afters she sees the same thing: people commenting with negativity. Phrases like "you looked better before" and "why do all these people look ill in their after pics?" pop up regularly according to Itsines, undermining all the hard work that these women have poured into their workouts and fitness habits. "With social media, it is very easy to comment and become what we describe as the 'keyboard warriors,'" she wrote. "Something important to remember about body shaming is that it doesn't necessarily always need to be intentional. What I mean is, people don't necessarily act or say things while consciously thinking, 'I want to make that person upset.'"
